Thomas P. Helton was appointed guardian of Narcissa, Susan, Evaline, Penelope and Peter Thompson, orphans of Peter Thompson, on March 5, 1838, bond of $3000.00. This was in land lot # 229, 19th Dist., Mount Pisgah Church area.
Bondsmen: Charles Riley & William Price. Apparently he already had 8 children of his own. He may have married the widow of Peter Thompson in 1834 and took in her children.

Susan Thompson (one of the children) may have later married John Conelas Helton
