Richard Hilton

Richard shows up on indexes for the 1820 Washington County Georgia census and could be related to James Hilton (later to be known as Helton) and Abraham Hilton (later to be know as Helton).  We assume that James and Abraham were father and son and left Washington County in 1827-1828 to claim their prize in the 1827 Georgia land Lottery in Randolph County Georgia.  Richard did not show up on 1830 Randolph County Census indexes.  We assume that Richard and James were brothers.

Richard was probably named for Peter Helton's Grandfather Richard Helton

Richard again shows up on indexes for 1830 Washington County Georgia Census with all data correlations

Richard's history after 1820 needs to be checked.  Either 1830 Washington County census indexes or check to see if he may have been a land lottery winner sent to another Georgia County.

If his family still resides in Washington County a DNA History needs to be compared with Randolph County Hilton's (Helton's) to see if there is a match

Richard could be related to James Hilton (Helton). Based on his age, James Hilton's age, and those of Richard's children, Richard could have been James Hilton's brother.  At this time we have no correlating data points to confirm this.
