1840 Stewart County GA Census

We know that Abraham, John, and Thomas P each arrived in Lumpkin (Stewart County) in the Winter of 1830.  We think the neighborhood referenced in the article was called Trotman and many of our Hilton fathers can remember the mule ride to this area in Stewart County to visit relatives.

We think (unconfirmed) that Abraham, John, and Thomas Peter were James' brothers, who James sent for after he won the Land Lottery land in 1827 and moved to Randolph County in 1828.
